Dear Shoppers,

We are open for business on Sunday-not a rain cloud on the radar. Also open for business…food scrap collection for composting! We are thrilled this service has resumed thanks to the tireless efforts of volunteers and the incredible support of the Village of Irvington and Main Street School staff. Going forward, there are very strict guidelines in place for the collection:

  • We can only accept 260 gallons of food scraps. Once our toters are full, we will have to redirect people to Anthony Veteran Park in Greenburgh. Get to the Market early!
  • Food scraps can only be dropped off during Market hours-9:30am to 1:00pm. No food scraps can be thrown into the toters after hours.
  • Only food waste and compostable materials will be accepted. Please monitor your collection carefully.

We are confident this program will expand in the future. If you would like to get involved in these efforts, please email Anne Jaffe Holmes

After you drop off your food scraps, head to Wrights Farm and try their new heirloom tomato sauce, made with vine-ripened, handpicked heirloom tomatoes from their farm. It’s a great pantry staple to have on hand for those nights when you need dinner on the table fast.  Serve it over pasta or, if you have a few minutes to spare, pork and beef meatballs with ground meat from Southtown Farms.  Don’t have a good meatball recipe? Try this one from Fleisher’s Craft Butchery. Pair either the pasta or the meatballs (or both) with a salad mix from Climax Cooperative.

Intuiton performs in the Music tent.

See you at the market!
